How to Connect Ubuntu server using putty or putty like tools

To connect Ubuntu server using putty or putty like tool you need generally two packages such as ‘ssh ‘and ‘openssh-server ‘. 

Install ssh and  openssh-server if not already install:

root@ubuntu:~# apt-get install ssh openssh-server
Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
Suggested packages:
ssh-askpass rssh molly-guard monkeysphere
The following NEW packages will be installed:
openssh-server ssh
0 upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 90 not upgraded.

 Now Restart ssh daemon :

 

root@ubuntu:~# /etc/init.d/ssh restart
[ ok ] Restarting ssh (via systemctl): ssh.service.
root@ubuntu:~#

Now you connect your Ubuntu server using putty.
